One of the most important things that I have learned over the years is that time is extremely valuable. I have learned and continue to learn to appreciate each day, because the years of your life can fly by you very quickly.
How can I be more productive and save time?
There are times where a tool can be utilized to do a particular task in less time. I have, over time, come across a set of mobile apps that I found to help me improve my productivity and I'd like to share them with you.
This has been my choice for managing projects. It is a great tool to be able to quickly document tasks and construct a project without having to go through a steep learning curve. In addition, the interface is intuitive and simple to use.
This is the email service that I have used for over ten years and it's great to be able to access it on my phone.
- AOL Reader
When Google Reader was in existence, I used it to keep track of all the blogs that I would regularly read. When it became extinct about two years ago, I wanted something similar and I found AOL Reader. Many of the shortcut keys from Google Reader are the same in AOL Reader.
- Turbo Invoice
I had to create invoices a few times this past year and to be able to do it completely from a mobile app in two minutes makes this app a keeper.
I have experimented with a variety of to-do list apps and I eventually stuck with Any.DO. My advice to you is to try out a few and see which one best meets your needs.
I like this calendar app's tight integration with Google Calendar. It is a breeze to schedule meetings or events with this mobile app.
I have been using this app for almost a year and it's handy to be able to scan a document anytime.
This was formerly called IFTTT and I haven't really taken full advantage of it. In a nutshell, it is like Lego blocks where you can connect together various services to do something. An example and the only one that I have setup is where IF takes my Instagram pictures and embeds them in a tweet to post on Twitter.
I recently got this one and it seemed too valuable to not have it. It makes it easy to create a signature that looks hand written and place it anywhere in any digital document.
- Squarespace Metrics
I recently started this blog using Squarespace and they provide this neat app that quickly shows various metrics on your site.
This is a recent addition to my phone and it is impressive. This app enables you to send almost anything from a text message to photos from your phone to another device or computer in just a few seconds or less.
I use this app on a daily basis and it is my tool to bookmark websites or articles that I find interesting. It makes it easy to save something and come back to it later.
Time is our most important resource and it shouldn't be wasted. My list of productive apps has helped me save time on a variety of tasks. The other thing that I like about these mobile apps is that they enable you to be location independent. You don't have to be tied down to an office or some other location. As long as your mobile device has an internet connection, you can get the job done. Who wouldn't want to have more free time to spend time with their family, friends, and on meaningful work?
